Jim Gerard, 77, of Centerville passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.

Jim was born to James & Tressa (Watts) Gerard on August 6, 1939 in Brazil, Iowa. He received his education from Centerville High School, graduating in 1957. After school, Jim began working at Hy-Vee until his retirement in 2002. Jim was united in marriage to Ruth Goodman, she preceded him on September 7, 1999.

Jim was an ornery guy, he loved teasing and joking with people. He always had a smile and a funny statement.

In his spare time, Jim enjoyed traveling in his motorhome. He loved visiting Branson, Missouri and traveling to Colorado. He also enjoyed watching western movies. In Jim's younger years, he also enjoyed hunting.
