Jay P. Becker, of Antigo, died on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. He was 66 years old. He was born on September 29, 1958 in Milwaukee, a son of the late Eugene and Janet (Hinsenkamp) Becker. He married Marcia Mraz on September 9, 1978 in Rota, Spain. Jay was a graduate of James Madison High School in Milwaukee. He served in the United States Navy from October 1976 to January 1980 having served on the USS Canopus. He reenlisted and served from January 1983 to 1989 aboard the USS Peary and the USS Jason. Following his military service he became a firefighter and EMT. He was employed by the City of Antigo until his medical retirement in 1999. Jay enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed time with his best friend, Mack and will be remembered for his liberal use of sarcasm and story telling. Survivors include his wife, Marcia; two daughters, Michelle (Kyle) Messer of Antigo and Jessica Brown; a sister, Kerry (Tony) Borowski of Menasha; four brothers, Tracy (Lisa) Becker of Milwaukee, Nicholas (Debbie) Becker of Menomonee Falls, Matthew Becker of Elcho, and Brad Becker of Merrill; and a special niece, Aimee Krzywicki of Greenfield. ...[more]

addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Vincent, Dennis and Kirby. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25 at 2 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Military Honors will take place immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Williams House of Hope, Langlade County Humane Society, Antigo Food Pantry, REGI or the Giving Tree.
